LIBERTY
STANDS STILL
[2002]
Wesley Snipes, Linda Florentino ; Rated 15 Blade II was good, this was bad. This is a basically a political thriller which sees (mis-cast) Snipes' character seeking revenge against a husband and wife who just happen to manufacture weapons for the U.S Government. The film really hasn't got a plot line, at least not one I can make out. Snipes doesn't make his character believable at all and perhaps with someone else cast it might have made the film more watchable, but someone else isn't, so it ain't.. The director struggles to keep the film going, especially when faced with a very linear and two dimensional story to tell. This is a film worth missing, Snipes fans will be disappointed as there is no opportunity for Snipes to kick punch or even sneer, which of course is all he's good for. Pray for Blade III Wesley, it may be your only hope.
