MINORITY REPORT [2002] Tom Cruise, Colin Farrell ; Rated 12

You know when Steven Spielberg is even very slightly involved with a movie, that it's going to do well, but when he sits down in the directors chair you know he will produce something special. People weren't so sure about A.I, but it was the kid which did that and not the director. If anyone had any doubts that Minority Report wasn't going to sell, they had evaporated by the time they realised who was starring in it. Tom Cruise on his own, is pretty much guaranteed to make hundreds of millions, Spielberg on his own, again guaranteed to make hundreds of millions, put them together and you've got a temporary monopoly over any other films which have the miss-fortune of being released the same week. Minority Report is a science fiction mystery thriller which is action packed at every turn, and when there's not action there's special effects and when there's not.... you get the picture. The story revolves round the premise of the police being able to see crimes before they happen using very strange people called pre-cogs. Basically Cruise's character gets setup and he goes on the run to try and figure out what the hell is going on. Apart from a small slip up by the master director in the tricky middle section, Minority Report is the best thriller to hit the screens in a long time. This is a must see movie, you would be silly to watch anything else.
